Over the past few days, the UK press has seemed sure about Arsenal’s interest in Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.
While the links do seem genuine, the Portuguese press has been quite ahead of the curve on all of that, insistent on Arsenal interest for months.
An update on the Swede’s future has now emerged from A Bola, who state that Gyokeres is currently only focused on doing well with Sporting.
He does not want to be distracted by interest from the London giants and is keen on making sure that the Portuguese giants win the league by beating competition from Benfica.
As of now, the striker ‘doesn’t even want to hear it’ about the possibility of a transfer and that signals his focus on the current season. He wants to leave Sporting after achieving further glory.
The report states that Arsenal’s interest in the 26-year-old is not new and there is a fair bit of confidence that he will play somewhere in the Premier League next season.
Gyokeres, who has 42 goals in all competitions this season, only wants to think about a potential exit when the campaign ends.
