Kurt Zouma’s immediate future at Stamford Bridge ‘looks dim’ and he must ‘find a good way out’ of Chelsea before the window closes, reports L’Equipe on Wednesday.

Over the past few weeks, the defender ‘found himself in the midst’ of transfer hypotheses as AS Roma, Sevilla and West Ham United emerged as options for the 26-year-old.

Zouma wasn’t against the possibility of moving to Italy, where he would have reunited with José Mourinho. However, the deal didn’t take shape because Roma couldn’t find an agreement with the Blues.

A move to Sevilla was considered for the centre-back as Chelsea tried to include him as a part of the deal that would help them sign Jules Koundé, but this possibility was rejected by Monchi.

The Hammers have come forward with an offer of around £25m, but the suggestion is the proposal wasn’t convincing enough for the player and Thomas Tuchel’s side.

L’Equipe explain ‘discussions are continuing’, but there’s no mention whether it’s between Zouma and West Ham, or between the two clubs.

David Moyes’ side haven’t found a contractual agreement with the Frenchman, who seems to be more tempted by the option to join West Ham than Sevilla.

That should be viewed as an encouragement for West Ham in their efforts to sign Zouma.
