Earlier this week, Atlantico Hoy reported UD Las Palmas are keen on signing Liverpool’s Stefan Bajčetić in the winter market.
The midfielder has been on loan at Red Bull Salzburg since last summer and played 19 games for them so far.
Canarias 7 state the La Liga side have identified the Liverpool man as the priority target to improve their midfield.
Las Palmas’ Dário Essugo is suspended for the next three games, leaving Diego Martínez with only Javi Muñoz and Enzo Loiodice. Their sporting director, Luis Helguera, is working on bringing in another midfielder.
Their goal is to sign Bajčetić on a loan deal, and the report states the director ‘accelerates negotiations’ with Liverpool. Las Palmas believe the 20-year-old is an ideal candidate to fix the ‘hole’ in their midfield.
The Spanish club aren’t alone and will face competition from Celta Vigo, Real Betis and Getafe. Canarias 7 add FC Porto have now joined the battle to sign the Liverpool man on a loan deal.
Arne Slot’s side know Las Palmas can be ‘very attractive’ for the Spain U21 international to continue his development. They have informed the Reds that Bajčetić getting regular minutes is ‘practically guaranteed’.
Liverpool and Bajčetić have to make a decision before Monday’s deadline.
