AC Milan have opened a ‘direct line’ with Chelsea for striker Romelu Lukaku and are trying to convince them to let Carney Chukwuemeka make a move to Milan too.

That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who reports that the two clubs are in constant contact about a potential double deal this summer.

According to the Italian journalist, the Rossoneri continue to maintain a direct line with Chelsea as they really like Lukaku and would like to take him back to Italy.

Talks with Chelsea are underway over a deal for him but any deal for the striker will not be struck quickly. Milan, though, know Lukaku is on Chelsea’s list of players to be moved on and are pushing to sign him on more favourable terms than what the Blues have initially asked for.

While that deal is being worked on, Milan have also shown an interest in Chukwuemeka and are working to convince Chelsea to loan him next season.

They have the midfielder among their potential targets and would like Chelsea to let him leave on loan, with an option to make the move permanent. They’re working on ‘various options’ in terms of the clause.

It seems Chelsea are not keen on that idea, though, and may need some convincing to let the midfielder depart.

Either way, Milan are trying, and the potential double deal is a ‘work in progress’ for them at this moment in time.
