Earlier on Tuesday, the French media revealed that West Ham United made an attempt to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice.
L’Equipe claimed that the Hammers tried the transfer with a €35m offer, and that was not enough to convince the Ligue 1 side, who want more for the summer sale.
It’s now Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg who comes up to talk about West Ham’s interest in Todibo, and he brings some updates on the situation.
First of all, he claims to have it confirmed that the Hammers placed a €35m bid, pointing out that the centre-back is set to become ‘very expensive’.
The news brought by Plettenberg says that West Ham have still not given up on the signing, and it’s possible that they place a new offer for him soon.
None of the reports say how much Nice are demanding for Todibo, and it seems the French side will negotiate until they get a very good bid for the player.
Now we should wait and see how far West Ham are willing to go to get that signing done.
