Right at the end of the winter transfer window, Manchester United agreed the loan of Facundo Pellistri to Granada.
The 22-year-old hadn’t been getting much playing time at Old Trafford, and was sent to Spain to get some more experience there.
Pellistri’s agent Marco Vanzini was today interviewed by Sport 890 in Uruguay. There, he brought some details of Pellistri’s latest move from Manchester United.
The representative first pointed out there was an issue to be sorted with the Red Devils. Perhaps that’s why the move was made on deadline day.
“The relationship we have with Granada was a determining factor in bringing Facundo Pellistri to the club. There were differences with United that we were able to resolve.”
Journalist Sebas Giovanelli also features some quotes from that interview, claiming Granada manager Alexander Medina was crucial for the signing.
“We made a representation alliance with Lasalvia and we managed to do the Pellistri move to Granada. It was fundamental that El Cacique called him, Facundo will fit perfectly into their system of play”.
Pellistri joined Manchester United on an €8.5m move from Peñarol back in 2020, and is still struggling to find a place in the Red Devils’ squad.
He currently has a total of 24 games played for the club, with just 14 appearances this season. This is his third loan to Spain, as he’d previously been at Alavés, and we’ll see what the Old Trafford side will choose to do with him next summer.
