Jurgen Klopp may have an extra wide smile on his face on Thursday, because he’s received some big praise from one of football’s biggest legends. Diego Maradona has a book out and has subsequently been speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca.

As well as a lengthy main interview, the Spanish newspaper asked Maradona a series of shorter questions. He thinks Barcelona and Bayern Munich are the best teams on the planet right now, and that Robert Lewandowski is the best pure striker around.

When asked which current manager caught his attention the most, Maradona had no hesitation is praising Liverpool’s Klopp.

After praising Klopp, Maradona also pointed out he likes Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone, for the work ethic he gives his teams and the style which that develops.

High praise from Diego Maradona, it’s surely got to be better for Jurgen to hear than more snipes from Mino Raiola.
