Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is destined to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, including Manchester United.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who says the Georgian star will be on the radar for many clubs despite his struggles this season.
Kvaratskhelia became one of the breakout stars in Europe last season in Napoli’s eventual run to the Serie A title, playing a starring role and finishing the campaign with 14 goals and 17 assists in 43 games in all competitions.
That naturally put him on the radar of some of the biggest sides in the world, who were all very much keeping an eye on the 22-year-old’s performances.
There’s been a considerable drop off for the winger this season, though, with him and Napoli struggling to replicate their performances last season after Luciano Spalletti departed in the summer.
As a result, he has managed just four goals and five assists in 18 games in all competitions so far this season, but this is something Di Marzio insists won’t deter the likes of Manchester United.
“I think Kvaratskhelia is a top player and has had an incredible impact at Napoli and in European football,” he said.
“He is still growing. I don’t agree with those who say that Kvara isn’t playing at his talent level this year. I think this is a very difficult year for Napoli and for Kvara himself after Spalletti’s departure.
“I am sure that this year we will see a Kvaratskhelia with more character. I don’t know if we’ll see him at Napoli next year, I only know that his destiny is to play for one of the top five clubs in the world like Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United.”
