Khvicha Kvaratskhelia looks to be edging closer to the Napoli exit, with both the player and his club potentially parting on something of a whimper.

PSG appear to be the only serious option in town right now, and despite links to Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United there doesn’t appear to be any genuine attempts being made from England right now.

Should a move for Kvaratskhelia get across the line this month then Antonio Conte will naturally want a replacement sourcing. There were claims on Friday that even Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusecskiias a target, but that seems wildly unrealistic.

Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport drags Federico Chiesa back in. Antonio Conte has long been a fan of the Liverpool player, and it’s not too unkind to say Chiesa’s move to Anfield hasn’t exactly gone well so far.

The 27-year-old has played just 18 Premier League minutes, picking up around 100 more across three appearances in other competitions for Liverpool.

Arne Slot has repeatedly spoken about the Italian being of too low a fitness level when he arrived, but it’s now January and that should really have been overcome.

Gazzetta report Napoli want to ‘understand what intentions’ Liverpool have with Chiesa, and are tempted to contact the Merseyside club to find out exactly that.

Signing Chiesa would be something of a dream move for Napoli, and one they may pursue in the coming days.
