Leeds United target Jordan Torunarigha now admits he may be on his way out of KAA Gent this summer.
The 26-year-old was today interviewed by Transfermarkt, and pointed out that clubs have indeed been in touch for his transfer.
“There are very exciting and specific enquiries that I am dealing with,” said Torunarigha.
Torunarigha didn’t mind admitting he’s keen on a transfer, even though that may only happen next year, when he becomes a free agent.
“I feel good, I’m in top shape and ready for the next step.
“I still have a year left on my contract and I’m not in a hurry. We’ll see what happens. I’m aiming for the highest possible sporting goals. That will definitely play a role in my decision.”
It was at the end of May that the German media revealed Leeds’ interest in Torunarigha. Back then, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed that the Whites are one of the clubs keen on signing him this summer, instead of waiting for his contract to expire.
In that same report, it was also claimed that to let the player go this summer, Genk are said to be demanding between €2.5m and €3m.
Leeds are not expected to be alone in the race for him, though, as the likes of Stuttgart and Hoffenheim are reportedly interested in taking him to the Bundesliga. So the Whites need good arguments to win that battle.
