According to Aksam, Besiktas will sell Gokhan Gonul to Fulham and he’s ‘very close’ to arriving in the Premier League.
This week we covered reports from the Turkish press that Fulham are keen on signing the 33 year old Turkish international, and are ready to pay €4.5m for the player.
Aksam claim no official offer has been received by Besiktas but the club’s board are keen to sell him to Fulham if the London side are prepared to bid €4.5m, which seems a little high given his age.
It’s claimed Gonul also wants to see out his career in England as would like to experience the atmosphere in the Premier League.
Besiktas manager Senol Gunes is keen to add a right back to his squad this summer and Aksam say this is probably due to him knowing Gonul wants to leave the Turkish club.
Gonul still has two years left on his contract and made 34 appearances for Besiktas last season.
