Chelsea youngster Diego Moreira has admitted it was easy for him to decide to join Lyon on loan on deadline day of the summer transfer window.
The winger has been speaking to the club’s official channels, relayed by Olympique Et Lyonnais, regarding his arrival after finally linking up with the French side.
Moreira only joined Chelsea this summer, arriving on a free transfer from Benfica B at the beginning of July as the Blues continued their efforts to sign youngsters for the future.
He is very much considered a player for further down the line and that was shown at the end of the window as Chelsea immediately loaned him out to Lyon in France for the season.
That deal came right at the end of the window in the dying moments of deadline day as Lyon moved quickly to sign a replacement for Bradley Barcola, who left to join Paris Saint Germain.
It meant things had to be wrapped up quickly but Moreira, who has only just linked up with his new teammates after heading out on international duty right after signing, admitted he had no problem making the move.
“I signed for Chelsea and here I am on loan to OL,” he said.
“It’s a big club, with very great players who have been there. It was done on the gong, but I knew the club had an interest in me, so the decision was easy.”
