On May 24th, Calciomercato stated Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to do everything to sign Davide Frattesi and Sassuolo are keen to sell him to the Premier League side in the summer.
Five days later, TuttoMercatoWeb stated the Serie A side had received a €40m offer from England and there was a suggestion it could have been made by the Seagulls.
Alfredo Pedullà now states ‘Roberto De Zerbi appreciates Frattesi a lot’ as he previously managed him when the pair were at the Italian club. The manager seems to be leading Brighton’s pursuit to sign the player.
However, the Premier League club are ‘out’ and ‘can be excluded’ from the transfer race for the midfielder. That’s because the Italy international has other ideas for his future.
Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali ‘talks about’ the track leading to England, where De Zerbi’s side are credited with an interest.
The report says Carnevali probably did this to create an auction among the player’s Italian suitors; AS Roma, Juventus and Inter Milan. The ‘game is open’ and no less than €30m plus bonuses is needed to carry out the operation in the next window.
Whether Pedulla is correct, and Frattesi would snub Brighton remains to be seen.
