David De Gea’s future will remain up in the air regardless of whether he leaves or renews this summer. The Manchester United goalkeeper is one of the best in the world, and has already shown a big desire to move to Real Madrid, a club that want to sign him.

It’s natural that transfer rumours follow De Gea around, and the Manchester United goalkeeper makes no attempt to rule a move out, very much keeping his options open.

Speaking to Spanish TV, and covered by Marca, De Gea said when he first moved to Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson was “like a father” to him. On current manager Jose Mourinho, De Gea is quoted as saying: “The best quality of Mourinho is the force that transmits. He is very ambitious.”

Super awkwardly, De Gea was also asked what he thinks about Keylor Navas, the goalkeeper he’s repeatedly rumoured to be taking over from at Real Madrid. The Spanish number one said Navas is “very agile”.

That would help the Costa Rican move out of the way quickly if and when De Gea arrives at Real Madrid.
