Friday’s edition of L’Equipe reports Hugo Lloris has likely played this last game for Tottenham and now he’s free to choose his next destination.
The goalkeeper being on the verge of an exit has been covered widely, with talks of a potential move to the Middle East. The French media talked to the player’s entourage on Thursday and were told that all options, including the Middle East, are open but nothing has been defined at this stage.
L’Equipe explain Tottenham will want to mark Lloris’ time with the club, given the long service he’s given them. It’s also stated Daniel Levy is set to make a ‘strong gesture’ and allow the player to leave a year before the end of his contract.
It’s not explicitly said, but the clear insinuation is Tottenham will therefore allow the 36-year-old to leave the club as a free agent, enabling him to have his pick of destinations.
L’Equipe insist that despite reports hyping a move to Saudi Arabia, there’s still been no offer from any club in the country.
