Following Wednesday’s reports that Tottenham had reached a €35m agreement with a Chinese club for Mousa Dembélé, Corriere dello Sport on Thursday are quick to point out the Belgian would prefer a move to Italy.
Inter remain the main protagonists in this dossier, even if Napoli and Juventus are also briefly mentioned, and more talks are said to have taken place yesterday.
Corriere state Dembélé’s agents, accompanied by Italian intermediary Gabriele Giuffrida, presented themselves at Inter’s headquarters, which shows their continuous intent to sign the Spurs midfielder.
However, before any of this happens, the Serie A side will need to sort out their FFP situation before June 30th, which gives Napoli and Juventus, their main competition, a two week window of opportunity.
Daniel Levy and his ‘high demands’ are presented as another problem in the potential transfer.
With the World Cup now upon us, it seems doubtful Dembélé’s future will be resolved anytime soon, which might just play into Inter’s hands.
