According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce made an attempt to sign Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell during the last transfer window.

It’s been well documented in recent weeks that the Istanbul side were in the market for a left back, however, they couldn’t convince the Crystal Palace player over a move to the Super Lig.

During the last summer transfer window, the Super Lig side sold Ferdi Kadıoğlu to Brighton & Hove Albion, but the Turkey international wasn’t replaced for Jose Mourinho.

Milliyet today report Fenerbahce sporting director Mario Branco held transfer talks with both Mitchell and the Premier League side over a possible deal.

With the 25-year-old entering into the final months of his contract with the Eagles it seems the Yellow Canaries were looking to get a cut price deal, as well as bringing in an experienced left back.

However, it’s claimed Mitchell wasn’t interested in a move to Fenerbahce and wanted to see out the season out with Crystal Palace.

He’s made 28 appearances for the London club this season, but his future with them still seems uncertain.
