Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Brazilian youngster Matheus França.
According to TNT Sports, the Eagles and Magpies both ‘want to sign’ the 18-year-old, who’s been showing big potential at Flamengo.
For now, however, there’s no information on how advanced the contacts from Crystal Palace and Newcastle are, as it still doesn’t look like they placed bids for the transfer.
Matheus França made his debut for Flamengo this year, and even with so many stars in the squad which won the Copa Libertadores, he’s still managing to make his way into the team.
The midfielder has so far scored six goals in 23 appearances for the club, all made this season, and is expected to get more chances in 2023.
The potential shown by the 18-year-old has already been enough for him to be linked to Manchester City, who were reportedly willing to offer €35m for his signing.
Even though it seems that bid is still to arrive, it’s clear that Crystal Palace and Newcastle would have to spend big to take him away from Flamengo.
