Crystal Palace need a ‘very heavy, indecent’ offer if they are to get Perr Schuurs from Torino this summer.
That’s according to Corriere dela Sera, who cover the transfer situation at the Italian club today and carry comments from director of football Davide Vagnati insisting they don’t intend to sell.
Schuurs has found himself being looked at by Premier League clubs again this summer after another impressive season in Serie A with Torino.
Crystal Palace are firmly in the mix for him, planning ahead in case of the likes of Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen leave in the coming weeks.
A report earlier this month indicated that they had made the most interesting proposal for the defender thus far, although they were later said to have pulled out after being unable to reach an agreement with Torino.
Corriere dela Sera say they have indeed seen a bid rejected by Torino, who have no intention of selling their key players unless they receive ‘very heavy, indecent offers’ for those players.
That’s a sentiment shared by Vagnati, who has sent a warning to Crystal Palace and any other clubs sniffing around their stars.
“Taurus doesn’t need to sell. We are ready to build a strong, competitive team,” he said.
“Thanks to the planning of the president we are now able to keep our big names. There was some interest, it’s normal, but we didn’t take them into consideration.
“Last year was another story. Serious planning matures after two or three years, and now we are seeing the first fruits.
“Then, if sensational offers arrive, we will evaluate them together with the president, Juric and the boy (Samuele Ricci), it is inevitable. We have already rejected various offers (for Schuurs).”
