According to a claim in the Turkish media, Crystal Palace are showing interest in Trabzonspor midfielder Batista Mendy.
The Frenchman impressed for the Turkish side last season which has led to other clubs wanting to sign him.
Kuzey Ekspres today claim Crystal Palace are in the hunt for Mendy as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season. They report the Eagles are knocking on the door to sign the 24-year-old but will face competition from two unnamed clubs.
However, Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avcı is keen to keep hold of Mendy and will do all he can to stop the midfielder leaving this summer. It’s claimed Avcıi is in constant contact with the player, and he wants to block any future offers that come in.
The defensive midfielder made 31 Super Lig appearances in his debut season in Turkey. He’s contracted to the Trabzon club until June 2027, with the option to extend this for another season.
Mendy has represented France at all youth levels.
