Crystal Palace have their sights set firmly on Sporting Club de Portugal defender Ousmane Diomande but are yet to make a proposal for him.
That’s according to Record, who say the defender is very much a target for Crystal Palace this summer.
The newspaper explains that the market is busy at Sporting, with players other than Viktor Gyökeres also earning attention around Europe.
Diomande is one of them and has ‘increased interest’ from Crystal Palace. They’ve just one of a list of interested parties in the Premier League who are all monitoring the 21-year-old closely.
He’s now at the top of Crystal Palace’s wish-list but they have not gone further than making enquiries for him so far. Their interest has not materialised into an offer of any sort.
Crystal Palace are instead waiting for movement in their own squad, namely around Marc Guehi, before making their move. If he departs, which is a possibility, they will then move for Diomande.
The Ivorian is protected by an €80m release clause but that is simply a clause which gives the Portuguese club room for movement in negotiations rather than being a firm asking price.
Crystal Palace have also been linked with Lloyd Kelly today, who has struggled since his move from Newcastle United to Juventus.
