Getafe have rejected Crystal Palace’s initial offer for goalkeeper David Soria as talks to try and take the goalkeeper to Selhurst Park continue.

That’s according to Marca, who say Crystal Palace’s offer for the goalkeeper has been ‘rejected for the moment’.

Palace’s interest in Soria first emerged late last month when it was reported that they seemed to be entering the bidding for his signature this summer.

That was followed by a report over the weekend that they were the most interested club in him in this window and Getafe were open to a sale if his €12m release clause is met.

Marca pick up the story today and explain that Real Madrid had been looking at Soria as a replacement for Andriy Lunin, who they’ve put up for sale.

However, Getafe ‘have an offer’ from Crystal Palace for the goalkeeper, which they have ‘rejected for the moment’. The value of that bid isn’t mentioned but seemingly isn’t near the €12m release clause or enough to convince Getafe to sell.

One of the keys of the negotiation appears to be Vincent Guaita, who is entering the last year of his deal at Crystal Palace and ‘could enter the operation’ and return to his former club.

That is something which has been mentioned in the previous reports too and perhaps that idea needs to be finalised before Palace can then sign Soria.
