As Arsenal fullback Cedric Soares is rarely being used by the club this season, it seems he could have a couple of opportunities to leave London in January.
As outlet Foot Mercato today writes about Besiktas’ transfer window, they claim that the club, who are looking for a right-back, are interested in the 32-year-old.
They add that the Istanbul side are not the only side trying to bring the Arsenal player to Turkey, as Trabzonspor are also keen on his signing.
According to the report, both clubs got in touch with Soares’ entourage and are working for a winter transfer.
The fullback only made a couple of appearances for Arsenal this season. He was first used in the EFL Cup against Brentford in September, and then got a start in the Champions League group stage final match this month.
It remains to be seen whether Arteta would let Soares go or if he’d like to keep him in the squad for the rest of the season. It’s worth recalling that his contract with the club expires in June.
