For weeks now, the Italian media has been making it clear that Leeds United lead the race for Azzedine Ounahi.
Even though there are many stories claiming Napoli want the player, the Whites are said to be closest to his signing, as a €25m offer was reported a couple of times.
It turns out that as CalcioMercato.it today writes about Ounahi, they say Angers are still to receive an offer for him, even from Leeds, which only adds to the confusion.
Napoli are said to have no conditions to afford that amount, and could only get to a deal in case Angers drop their demands, having on their side Ounahi’s wish of moving to Serie A.
Leeds’ side of the story is different, though, as that amount is considered to be pretty much affordable for them or any other Premier League sides, although there is home the big fees for the likes of Georginio Rutter has somewhat depleted their transfer budget.
CalcioMercato says Angers now wait to see if the Whites ‘will push in a more concrete way’.
That basically says that in case the Elland Road side actually place the previously reported bid, then the player would be theirs if they can convince him to sign, which is no tall order seeing as previous reports have suggested he would prefer a move to Italy.
