On October 27th, we covered a report from Spanish newspaper AS that Charly Musonda was back in Spain after Chelsea doctors decided his knee injury wasn’t bad and he could get back to work for Real Betis.
Spanish newspaper AS had explained Musonda would be leaving Chelsea’s facilities and travelling back to Betis that day. AS surely got their information from the Spanish side of the arrangement, but Musonda didn’t go anywhere.
Or maybe he did, and then quickly returned again. Who knows.
Marca explain on Wednesday that Musonda is still in London, and continues to have his knee injury treated by Chelsea’s medical team.
There’s no real explanation of what happened with Musonda’s knee, or how severe the situation is. It’s not being treated as a bad injury by the Spanish media, but then they thought he’d be back at Betis more than a week ago.
Musonda is on loan to Betis for the season, after the Chelsea player had a good spell there during the last campaign.
Maybe Musonda is hanging around to get a word or two with Antonio Conte, at the beginning of October the youngster revealed he’d not managed to yet: “There’s feedback with people from Chelsea. I’ve never actually been in direct contact with Antonio Conte, but the club are keeping an eye on their players’ performances. My dream is to play in the Premier League, I’m going to continue my efforts to reach that objective.”
