Former Real Betis chief Antonio Cordón and his staff, José Ignacio Navarro and Alberto Benito, may have received an offer to join Unai Emery at Aston Villa.

That’s according to journalist Paco Cepeda, who covers the growing confusion over Cordón’s situation.

Cordón has been linked with a move to Aston Villa today, with reports today stating that the Villans have made an offer to take him and his team to Villa Park.

This comes amid something of a reshuffle of the structure at the club, with those in charge at Villa keen to hand more power to Emery in the decision making process.

That would involve changing up the transfer process and bringing in a director of football ahead of the summer transfer window and Cordón would be the man to take up the role.

It seems there is confusion about whether there has actually been a bid, though, with Jugada Sevilla covering his comments.

The journalist confirms that Cordón ‘has an offer’ and that his assistants, Navarro and Benito, ‘will go with him’ if that happens. However, who that offer is from is unknown.

“The question is whether the offer is from Barcelona or Unai Emery’s Aston Villa,” he is quoted as saying on the subject.

That pours a little bit of cold water on previous reports, which had stated Cordón had received an offer from both clubs. Instead, it appears that he has one from either Barcelona or Aston Villa.

Thus, it remains to be seen what the truth actually is, something we’re sure will be made clear in the coming days.
