On Monday, MilanNews’ Antonio Vitiello reported this week will be crucial regarding AC Milan’s move for Brighton left-back Pervis Estupinan.

Gazzetta dello Sport also indicated something similar on Monday and now the deal seems to be close to completion.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports Brighton and Milan have reached an agreement over a fee of €18m plus €2m bonuses.

Both clubs have worked to find a middle ground, since the Seagulls’ initial asking price was €23m and the Rossoneri’s initial offer was only €12m. A fee of €18m is a ‘compromise deemed satisfactory to everyone’.

Estupinan is said to be very happy that the deal reached a conclusion quickly and he can fly to Milan in the next few hours.

The Brighton player has already agreed personal terms with Milan and is set to sign a four-year deal worth €2.5m per season.

Rossoneri manager Max Allegri is also pleased with the deal and is now waiting for the 27-year-old to join Milan’s pre-season squad in Singapore.

Only the final details of the deal are missing but as Vitiello claimed, everything should be sorted out this week, and possibly within hours.
