Arne Slot assistant Sipke Hulshoff faces a ‘complicated decision’ this summer as his plans to move to Liverpool clash with his role for the Netherlands national team.
That’s according to journalist Mikos Gouka of Algemeen Dagblad, who reports that Hulshoff has been told to solve the problem himself.
The newspaper explains that a complicated decision lies ahead for the Feyenoord assistant, who Arne Slot plans to take with him to Liverpool this summer.
The Dutch coach is the man Liverpool have lined up to replace Jurgen Klopp and he wants to take Hulshoff, who is one of his assistants, alongside fellow coach Etiënne Reijnen and Belgian Head of Performance Ruben Peeters.
However, while Liverpool are negotiating for the staff members, there is an additional problem when it comes to Hulshoff.
Liverpool want him and the new staff to be in place from day one but because Hulshoff is also an assistant to Ronald Koeman with the Netherlands he is planning to be in Germany for Euro 2024 this summer.
Thus, things are ‘going to be difficult’ and Hulshoff has been told to ‘solve that problem himself’ ahead of his arrival at Anfield.
Whether that means he has to give up his role with the national team or a special agreement can be made, remains to be seen. But it is a problem which it appears to need to be solved ahead of Slot taking charge at Liverpool.
