Friday saw claims come from Catalan newspaper Sport regarding the future of Martin Braithwaite.

It was stated the Barcelona striker is close to signing for West Ham, although it was still made clear a better wages offer would be needed from the Premier League club.

West Ham were expected to get around €15m from the potential summer transfer.

Saturday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, another Catalan newspaper, says that as it stands Braithwaite is determined to stay at Barcelona.

He knows his career won’t get any better than playing for the Blaugrana, and he feels that manager Ronald Koeman has confidence in him. On top of that, the Denmark international is very happy living in Barcelona, where he also has business interests.

Should the club try to push him out, then he’ll only move to a club which convinces him with their sporting project, and offers a bigger salary to what he’s currently making at the La Liga side.
