On Tuesday, claims came from Brazil stating Emerson Royal is now on the verge of signing for AC Milan and the long transfer soap opera is close to coming to an end.
Over in Italy there’s been cockiness for a while regarding the Rossoneri’s chances of signing the Tottenham fullback. It’s long been claimed the player has personally agreed the San Siro move and it was just a case of agreeing a deal with Spurs.
That is clearly easier said than done and Wednesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport drops some of the cockiness seen previously, even suggesting there’s a chance the move could fail.
As far as the Italian newspaper have it, Milan are offering €10m ‘or a little more’, and Tottenham continue to ask for double that.
Gazzetta dello Sport say ‘the next appointment’ is key to find out whether there’s an intention to actually reach an agreement or whether this one is going nowhere for now.
The insinuation is that something will have to give, with one of the two clubs caving in, or this one could be put on the back burner and alternatives looked at.
