Club Brugge have been chasing Tottenham Hotspur’s Victor Wanyama as they look to strengthen their midfield.
On August 23rd, there were very conflicting claims over the Kenya international’s potential transfer.
Earlier today, Het Laatste Nieuws reported the Jupiler Pro League side are making ‘steady progress’ in signing the 28-year-old, while his entourage is also evaluating offers from other clubs.
Another Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad claims Brugge are committed to the possibility of adding the former Southampton man to their squad.
The report explains the two clubs have already found an agreement for a deal worth €15m, which includes €5m in bonuses.
Brugge have offered the player a five-year contract, but are yet to agree terms for the transfer.
Het Nieuwsblad states the negotiation to find an agreement with Wanyama is moving in the ‘right direction’ and there is belief at Brugge the deal can be concluded quickly.
Mauricio Pochettino admitted on Friday that he is unsure if Wanyama will continue at Tottenham and his comments should come as a welcome boost for Club Brugge.
