In the past few days, there’s been a rumour in Brazil saying Flamengo are interested in signing Antony from Manchester United.

Since the winger isn’t having his best days with the Red Devils, it was claimed that the Rio de Janeiro side are considering attempting a loan deal.

That’s a story which didn’t get picked up by major outlets in Brazil, and as journalist Isabelle Costa comes up with her take on the situation, she dismisses the news.

Pointing out she respects her colleagues’ information, she claims that Flamengo are actually not making any moves to get Antony from Manchester United.

It’s been claimed many times that the player would be far too expensive for the Brazilian club, especially because the Red Devils wouldn’t want get rid of him for nothing after the initial investment made for his arrival. His salary would also be a major problem.

There is, however, an interesting possibility put on the table, claiming that as it was Erik ten Hag who suggested Antony’s signing for the club, things could get bad for the winger in case the manager ends up being sacked by Manchester United at the end of the season.

Still, Antony is expected to have some market in Europe, and Flamengo don’t seem to be moving for him at this moment in time.
