As the rumours about Boubakary Soumare’s departure from Leicester City continue, we get to see Roma’s interest in the player now backed up by the Italian media.
Journalist Gianluigi Longari writes that ‘among the names evaluated’ by the Giallorossi to reinforce their midfield, the Foxes’ 23-year-old is there.
It’s said Soumare is seen as an option ‘in strength’, and Roma would be more interested in landing him from Leicester City on a loan deal.
Longari, however, points out this is ‘not an easy operation’ for the Serie A side, since the club are ‘not the only candidate’ to land the midfielder this summer.
Soumare has indeed been linked to other clubs lately, especially with the French media reporting the interest from Ligue 1 sides in the player.
That’s where we first saw Roma getting linked, with Foot Mercato pointing out the Giallorossi’s attention to the player.
Monaco were in talks with Leicester City for the transfer before moving on due to the €20m demands, but there also have been rumours about the chase from Premier League clubs such as Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.
