Celta Vigo are yet to receive a firm offer for midfielder Okay Yokuslu, despite interest from the likes of Crystal Palace.
That’s according to El Desmarque, citing Radio Galega, who say that despite promises from the midfielder’s agent, nobody has come forward with a bid.
They explain that after his loan spell at West Brom last season, Yokuslu, his agent and Celta Vigo had been relatively confident they would find a suitor for him this summer.
The hope had been that he could ramp up his asking price with impressive performances at the Euros, but Turkey’s disappointing campaign at the tournament meant that didn’t happen.
However, it seems Celta are yet to receive any ‘firm offer’ for Yokuslu, despite his agent Batur Altiparmak having ‘assured’ them this would not be the case.
His agency did meet with Watford, but it was only an ‘informal’ meeting, and no progress was made on a possible signing.
Celta would like to recoup much of the €6m they paid for the midfielder in 2018, but no English team are willing to make such an investment.
In fact, Crystal Palace ‘only considered’ a loan with an option to buy while West Brom have seemingly given up for the time being as they know the player wants Premier League football.
Celta have not given up on securing a sale at some point and have even blocked sales of this season’s shirt with his name and number, but at the minute, his suitors are not making their moves.
