Greek website Sdna report Olympiacos have yet to reach an agreement with Southampton over a deal for Sofiane Boufal.
The Greek giants have been heavily linked with a move for the winger, but Sdna report they are struggling to get a deal over the line.
Sdna claim Olympiacos are the only club who are showing ‘concrete’ interest in Boufal, but Southampton aren’t willing to let him go on the cheap, even though they’re open to him leaving on a permanent deal.
In addition, it’s reported the player himself is looking to continue his career in one of the Europe’s major leagues, so this is another reason why talks are stalling.
Recent reports said the Erythrolefki are willing to pay €2.5m for the 27 year old, but the Saints are holding for €4m.
Boufal, who joined Southampton from Lille for €18.7m in 2016, will become a free agent at the end of the season, and will be able to speak to other clubs about a pre-contract agreement in the new year.
