Torino are ‘working with West Ham’ to finalise the deal for Nikola Vlasic and take advantage of the purchase clause included in his loan deal.
That’s according to Corriere Torino, who say that the midfielder could be Davide Vagnati’s ‘gift’ to manager Ivan Juric.
Vlasic joined the Serie A side on loan in the summer, having struggled in his sole season at the club following a move from CSKA Moscow.
He fell down the pecking order under David Moyes last season and was pushed further down the list by the arrival of Lucas Paqueta in the summer, hence his decision to move to Torino.
He has been impressing there ever since, establishing himself as a key player with a series of impressive performances before the break for the World Cup in Qatar.
Torino have been keen to arrange a deal with West Ham since, looking to get ahead of potential competition for the Croatia international and take advantage of the purchase clause they have included in his loan deal.
That figure is set at €15m, a figure they have been looking to get discounted, and Corriere Torino follow that up today.
They say that Torino are ‘already working with West Ham’ to finalise the redemption clause they set last summer.
According to them that figure is still €15m, but there is a suggestion the negotiations with the Hammers are based on what the actual figure will be.
Either way, they want Vlasic permanently because he is ‘liked for his tactical flexibility’ as well as several other valuable aspects of his game.
Indeed, he is liked so much that Vagnati is willing to ‘gift’ him to his manager, particularly because Torino can face the January transfer market with ‘completely serenity’.
They have their accounts in order and enjoyed a solid start to the season, partially thanks to Vlasic, who they are working to sign from West Ham permanently before the competition picks up.
