Leonardo Spinazzola is set for a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious injury in Italy’s Euro 2020 win over Belgium.

The 28-year-old’s setback has resulted in reports linking AS Roma to new left-backs in the last few days, and on July 12th, Calciomercato reported the Serie A side wouldn’t mind taking Alex Telles after an intermediary offered the Manchester United player to Roma.

Sky Italia state José Mourinho’s side ‘want’ the Brazilian and are ‘working on’ signing him on a loan deal.

Brought from FC Porto last summer, the left-back was limited to cup competitions and Europa League and as a backup to Luke Shaw in the Premier League.

Lack of regular playing time at United last season could see the 28-year-old ‘change the air’ this summer and the Italian capital club would like to borrow him on a temporary deal.

The Giallorossi are clear they would only consider signing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s man on loan and if United were to ‘open up to this formula’, then Telles ‘would become a concrete solution’ for Roma.
