Valencia won’t ‘lose their head’ to get Sergi Canós from Brentford this summer, despite a move proving troublesome so far.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say the Spanish side are still ‘working on’ the move for the midfielder but are yet to get anything finalised.
They’ve been linked with Canós for several weeks, with the player determined to leave Thomas Frank’s side despite them extending his contract by a year this summer.
Valencia are his dream club, but so far Brentford have resisted their efforts to sign him as the La Liga club want to avoid paying a transfer fee and instead perhaps do a deal with a sell on clause included.
Super Deporte report that a deal is yet to be finalised between the two clubs but neither has a deal with any other club, including Anderlecht, despite reports to the contrary elsewhere.
Canós is ‘still waiting’ for Valencia to work things out because the transfer remains his dream and his decision to turn up at Brentford pre-season training in a t-shirt stating ‘Please help me’ is being seen as a message to Valencia.
Fortunately for him, he remains ‘one of the priorities’ for the Spaniards but they’ve made it clear they are not going to lose their head and continue to insist on getting him ‘at the minimum cost’ this summer.
