AC Milan technical director Geoffrey Moncada is an admirer of AFC Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly and made a trip to England to watch him live in action against Burnley.
The centre-back has six months left on his deal and Gianluca Di Marzio stated earlier this month that the Cherries don’t want to sell him in January.
This is now echoed by MilanLive.it who add that Bournemouth would prefer to see the defender leave as a free agent next summer.
That hasn’t put off the Serie A side as the 25-year-old continues to be top of their list.
Milan are impressed with the Englishman and believe he could fit in well at the San Siro. Therefore, the report says Stefano Pioli’s side are ‘willing to give it a serious try’.
The deal won’t be easy, especially if Milan cannot take advantage of the Growth Decree, a tax advantage scheme, in Italy. In addition to this, they will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund to sign Kelly.
Despite this, it’s claimed Moncada has ‘never given up’ on the Bournemouth player and is ready to make a serious effort to acquire his services on a free transfer next summer.
