Galatasaray ‘will try to sign’ Matt O’Riley from Celtic and frustrate Brendan Rodgers, according to the latest reports.
Haber Meydan today writes that the Turkish side came up with this ‘surprise name’ to be landed in the next couple of days.
It’s said manager Okan Buruk and his scout team ‘want very much’ to get O’Riley signed, whether it be now or at the end of the season, and feel ‘an offer should be made’.
Since there are less than 48 hours until the Turkish transfer window closes, Galatasaray are now speaking to Celtic about the conditions for a deal.
The story claims that the Istanbul side are considering offering around €15m for the player, who’s labelled as a ‘star’ at Celtic Park, knowing they will have to spend a ‘high price’ to get him.
With little time to negotiate the conditions, it seems Celtic either accept this offer now, or they’ll receive another approach from Galatasaray at the end of the season.
O’Riley has been an important piece for the Hoops, with ten goals and 12 assists in 32 appearances this season, so it’d be natural for them to be tough in the talks, especially because they can’t sign a replacement right now.
