Everton could work out a double deal with Salernitana for strikers Neal Maupay and Boulaye Dia this summer, with the Italian side keen on the French forward.
That’s according to TV Oggi Salerno, who suggest there is a deal to be done between the two clubs at the end of the season.
They state that a ‘new attempt’ will be made for Maupay in the summer after the Italian side tried to get him in the January transfer window.
That effort was recently revealed by his agent Federico Pastorello, who confirmed they would be looking at options for the striker after a miserable year with Everton following a move from Brighton in the summer.
Salernitana seemingly remain keen on him and plan to revive that interest and could use Dia to help them get their man.
He is currently on loan at the club from Villarreal but they are set to make that a permanent switch in the summer for €12m as part of that agreement.
At that point they will ‘evaluate any offers’ for the Senegalese forward, knowing that there is interest in him, particularly from Everton, who have ‘long been interested’ in him.
Their interest has been covered on numerous occasions since the summer window, with it recently explained that they remain admirers of him.
Thus there is a double deal there to be done between the two clubs. Salernitana take Maupay, who wants the move, while Dia goes the other way to Goodison Park.
Now, whether that would be a straight swap, with both players valued at around the same price, or in a different agreement remains to be seen.
