Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen’s decision to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a loan deal has clearly paid off.
The right-back has impressed for the Bundesliga side this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions. On October 27th, he picked up an injury against Union Berlin and has been sidelined since then.
Bild now state the Leeds owned player should be fit and available for selection after the ongoing international break.
The outlet then takes a look at the 27-year-old’s future beyond this season. The German club have an option to make his stay permanent for €15m next summer.
Last month, Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung stated they will have to talk to the Whites about buying the Denmark international.
Bild back up their desire to retain the fullback, but Eintracht Frankfurt aren’t willing to activate the €15m buying option. They want to ‘negotiate this sum down considerably’, ‘well below €10m’. It’s not clear whether Daniel Farke’s side would be willing to accept this.
The report adds ‘it is clear’ the Dane should stay at Eintracht Frankfurt. Their CEO, Markus Krösche, is thrilled with Kristensen’s impact at the club this season.
“We are totally happy with him, he is a significant part of the group. He has brought in a winning mentality and aggression. He’s someone who pushes the youngsters and supports them positively, but also gives them a hard time. Rasmus is extremely important for us,” he told Bild.
