As the Brazilian media today revealed that Philippe Coutinho is set to move from Aston Villa to Vasco da Gama on a loan deal, there’s some more information being brought from South America.
TNT Sports journalist Aline Nastari comes up with a video saying that even though rescinding the contract was analysed at first, the parties knew the loan would be more likely.
Aston Villa spent €20m to sign Coutinho from Barcelona, and they don’t want to just let him leave for free, with not even the percentage of a future transfer.
Now that the clubs have agreed on a loan deal, it’s claimed that Vasco are just waiting for the English club to return with the documentation. There’s worry about the delay, and it could take up to a week until everything is sorted.
It’s said Coutinho needed to make a little sacrifice to secure his return to his beloved club. So even though he’s going to have the highest salary in their squad, he’ll still earn less than half of what he used to make in his contract with Aston Villa.
