Liverpool star Thiago Alcântara has ended up on Galatasaray’s agenda for the summer window, according to a report from Turkey.
The 32-year-old has struggled with multiple injuries since he arrived at Anfield in 2020. This had restricted him to only 18 league appearances last season. With a contract expiring in 2024, the Turkish club are trying to sign him to bolster their midfield.
That’s according to Fanatik, who state Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has already held talks with the Liverpool midfielder in England.
In the past few weeks, Timur has made several trips to England to carry out a few incoming and outgoing operations.
During the latest trip, it’s claimed he made a ‘very good offer’ to the Spain international and that Thiago has welcomed this proposal from Galatasaray.
The report adds the Galatasaray vice-president has also held talks with Liverpool to find out the conditions needed to sign the former Barcelona man in this window. There’s no mention of the Merseyside club’s response.
Should both the player and Liverpool accept the transfer proposal, Fanatik say it will be an ‘important change’ in Galatasaray’s midfield next season, where Thiago would be favoured ahead of Sérgio Oliveira.
