Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira is once again in Brazil’s headlines today.

It had been over three years since Flamengo last scored a goal from a free-kick, and the midfielder did it with style in the 3-0 win over Juventude last night.

In 11 appearances so far, Pereira has done more than enough to conquer a place in the starting team, and that’s of course kicking off the rumours about a permanent transfer.

The 25-year-old is loaned by Manchester United until the summer of 2022, and Flamengo have the chance to buy him for a fee of €20m.

So as journalist Jorge Nicola speaks about the situation today, he claims that the Rio de Janeiro side should trigger that option ‘as fast as possible’, due to the good displays from the midfielder.

That purchase, however, wouldn’t be so simple. As we’ve pointed out before, that would be Flamengo’s biggest signing ever, and that’s why Nicola says he doesn’t know how the club ‘would be able’ to make the operation.

Nicola claims Pereira will ‘certainly become a problem’ for Flamengo, as they will feel pressured to make the permanent move.

Meanwhile, on Manchester United’s side, the Red Devils are surely happy about how well the midfielder has been doing in Brazil, as his form clearly raises the chances of a big sale.
