Back in August 2022, São Paulo agreed a couple of deals with Manchester City to sign two players on loan. Those were Nahuel Bustos and Nahuel Ferraresi.
The striker’s spell, however, didn’t last long. Since he was not having playing time and couldn’t build a good relationship with manager Rogério Ceni, the clubs soon decided to cut his loan short. That’s why he’s about to join Argentine side Tallares in a new deal.
But Ferraresi stayed at São Paulo, and according to new reports from Brazil, the Tricolor are already working with Manchester City to extend his spell.
Journalist Gabriel Sá reports that even though the defender’s loan runs until January, the Brazilian club are ‘already moving behind the scenes’ to extend it until December 2023.
It’s claimed that this possibility is already in the loan contract with Manchester City, and São Paulo now only prepare to trigger that clause.
That may be good news for the Premier League side, as if Ferraresi continues to convince in Brazil, he could perhaps be involved in a permanent transfer in the future.
Manchester City have had the player since 2017, and since they never made any use of him, getting a sale at this stage looks like an interesting scenario.
