Arsenal’s hopes of signing Michael Kayode from Fiorentina any time soon may have been dashed as his agent has insisted he is happy where he is.
FC Inter News cover comments from the agent, Andrea Ritorni to Radio FirenzeViola today about his client and what the future may hold.
Kayode has been impressing for Fiorentina since making the step up to their first team from the U19 side in the summer, with one goal and two assists in 17 games in Serie A so far and a tally of one goal and three assists in 25 games in all competitions.
That’s seen him being watched by clubs around Europe, particularly Arsenal, who were first linked at the beginning of October.
Numerous reports since then have continued to insist that Arsenal are keeping a close eye on his performances, especially with the right-back spot having proven to be something of a weak point for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Indeed, it has been stated on two occasions that the Gunners are ‘above all’ in terms of showing interest in the youngster ahead of the summer.
It seems, though, he won’t be keen on joining Arsenal or anyone else for the time being, with his agent insisting they are very much focused on Fiorentina.
“Fiorentina need not worry,” he said.
“There is a contract that speaks for him: Michael is doing well with this club and in this team. Of course, various Premier teams follow him and have followed him, but this is normal, it’s part of football and life.
“However, Fiorentina has secured him with a nice contract and many bonuses let’s think about doing well now and in the future for the purple shirt.”
