Two days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Aston Villa director Monchi had travelled to Turin to hold talks with Juventus for Weston McKennie and Matias Soulé. It was also reported the Villans officials had offered Douglas Luiz to the Serie A side.
The 25-year-old American has a year left on his deal, while Soulé will return to Juve after an impressive loan spell at Frosinone.
Italian journalist Luca Momblano told Juventibus, relayed by Calciomercato.it, that Juve have informed Aston Villa they are willing to sell the duo for €65m in the summer window.
He adds the Turin club value the midfielder at around €25m and the 21-year-old winger at €40m.
Momblano claims this is ‘an astronomical figure’, and it seems ‘impossible to reach’ for the Villans.
That’s because McKennie’s deal lasts until 2025, while the Argentina U21 international has just completed one full season at the top flight at Frosinone, who were relegated from the Serie A this season.
Meanwhile, Luiz reportedly wants to leave the Premier League side in the next window.
Taking this into account, the report says there’s the possibility of carrying out a direct swap deal with Juve, which will see the Brazilian move to Italy and both McKennie and Soulé arrive at Villa Park.
That doesn’t seem like a great deal for Aston Villa, and its likelier to be the media close to Juventus trying to dream up an ideal scenario for them.
