Borussia Monchengladbach are in talks with Leeds United defender Maximilian Wöber about potentially going back to the club on loan.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who reports talks are underway for a second straight loan deal involving the Austrian centre-back.
They report that the 26-year-old can ‘well imagine’ playing for Borussia once again as he’s not a regular at Leeds. He was not even in the squad for Friday’s win over Sheffield Wednesday.
There are currently no negotiations taking place between the clubs but there is a feeling that Leeds would be open to another loan. The German side are not able to do a permanent deal unless they can secure sales first.
Wöber was a regular for Gladbach last season playing 27 games in total during a season-long loan spell from Leeds.
The two parties appear to be keen on a reunion and are talking to each other about potentially making it happen.
What Gladbach actually need to do, though, is work something out with Leeds, which they don’t appear to be doing at this moment in time.
Perhaps they’re taking the route of getting Wöber locked down before opening talks properly and if they are, it remains to be seen how that works out for them.
