Paris Saint Germain have taken a ‘step back’ in their chase for Newcastle United star Bruno Guimarães, according to the latest claims from Brazil.
TNT Sports Marcelo Bechler now reports the midfielder’s move to France is not taking place in the January transfer window.
It’s said that Guimarães is still Luis Henrique’s ‘plan A’, but Financial Fair Play stopped PSG from making such a big investment in the winter market.
According to the update, depending on the exit of other midfielders in January, the French club may make new contacts for the Newcastle player in the near future.
The very same journalist had brought a full report about this situation on Friday, claiming that PSG made an approach to get Guimarães signed. Back then, it had already been said that FFP could be an issue for them.
Now it seems the interest remains, and they shall return in the summer, while Newcastle will certainly have more time to get themselves prepared for a tough negotiation, even looking at potential replacements for their Brazilian star.
